Breaks, Chains, Crosses, and Islands Palmistry: the Lifeline

The lifeline holds a wealth of information as to what, when, and how different events might affect you throughout your life. The islands, chains, crosses, and breaks you go through in life, both positive and negative, are right there on your lifeline just waiting to tell you what comes next.

As a rule, when you find chains on your palm, you’ll often also be encountering a good deal of obstacles or stress in your life. It is true that chains don’t necessarily have to show up on your lifeline – stress markings can also be found on the palm itself or in the fingers, in places I’m sure I’ll cover in upcoming blogs – but when and where I see chains on a lifeline, I know a time is coming in which a great many decisions will be necessary. This is because it’s quite common, before and after chains appear on the lifeline, will appear breaks or crosses which indicate outside influences that bring change upon you and make life changing decisions necessary.

Oftentimes, where you see a break or chain, you will also see islands, which indicate moments of indecisiveness in the midst of an important decision. Certainly if you see a cross on your palm, you can expect a change to occur in your life that is not of your own making. These are always startling, but based on what I see surrounding the cross on your palm, I’ll be able to tell if this is a negative or positive change – and most often, either or will help to propel you forward in your life in precisely the direction you need to go to grow the most.

Your individual plan for growth is written on your palm. In fact, there are several indications on your palm that tell me if you are an older soul or not. As I previously mentioned in another blog, if your lifeline is separated from your headline, it’s an indication that you are an older soul. If I see this combined with several crosses on your palm, I’ll know that you have went through quite a few stressful circumstances in your life that have helped you learn and grow even further.

However, in a “younger” soul, I would still expect to see crosses, which can indicate changes as they look for which direction they want to focus to learn from in this lifetime. But I rarely see a separate lifeline and headline in younger souls. Generally speaking, they have a headline and lifeline that are attached because they have more support than older souls will.

This certainly doesn’t indicate that an older soul is bereft of support, or even that younger souls have all the help they need throughout their lives, as breaks in your lifeline tell me that both older and younger souls have been lacking the support they need. Most palms have breaks at one point or another, though a solid line indicates a sense of security and nurturing from others and is usually found around your childhood and adolescent years on your palm. This isn’t always the norm, as those with abusive backgrounds or who have suffered neglect early on have altered lifelines. Yet more often than not, I see solid lines in early childhood indicated on the palms of those I read for.

The most fascinating thing I encounter in palmistry is how quickly and dramatically the lines on your palm can change, depending on exactly where you are in the development you’ve chosen to undergo in this lifetime. Timing really is everything – and what I’ll be discussing in my next blog!
